BraidClass Core Classes are structured, in-person training sessions focused on foundational braiding technique and mechanical understanding. No prior experience is required for designated beginner sessions.

These sessions are designed for beginners and developing braiders who want to understand braiding at a structural level — not simply replicate finished styles.

Core instruction emphasizes:

  • Proper hand placement

  • Grip positioning and tension control

  • Sectioning and clean parting

  • Cornrow structure and foundational patterns

  • Consistency, symmetry, and overall neatness

  • Understanding how and why a braid holds

This is not a look and learn environment. Instruction is demonstration-based, followed by supervised application and real-time correction. Students practice under guidance to ensure techniques are understood
physically and technically.

Core Classes are appropriate for:

  • Individuals with little to no braiding experience

  • Youth students (age eligibility listed per session)

  • Adults learning for personal or creative development

  • Developing braiders refining foundational technique

What to Expect:

  • Small class environments

  • Structured technical breakdown of foundational methods

  • Guided hands-on practice

  • Individual correction and feedback

  • A calm, focused learning setting
